Christian History
Explore the rich and transformative history of Christianity
Christian history is the ongoing record of God’s dealings with His people. It begins before the foundation of the world and continues through all ages into and beyond the end of the world. It is largely written but also includes miraculous events and revelations to believers who have had wide and public witnesses. It includes the testimonies of Christians throughout the last twenty-one centuries, and yours is a part of it too!
What makes something "Christian History" compared to regular history?
What we commonly refer to as "history" is a recounting of events and narratives shaped by the perspectives and biases of those who documented them. This tradition began with Herodotus, often hailed as the "father of history," who chronicled his observations during his travels around the Mediterranean. Since then, historical accounts have been penned by individuals with distinct ethnic, religious, or political interests, often tailored to resonate with those with similar affiliations.
Christian history also reflects some of these influences, but its primary guiding principle is a steadfast commitment to faithfulness to God and His Word, the Bible.
