Among all seven churches, Laodicea receives the most searching rebuke. Unlike Smyrna and Philadelphia, there is no word of commendation. Jesus exposes a church that appeared prosperous and successful but had become spiritually indifferent. Yet even here, His words are not merely a condemnation. They are an appeal of love. The Savior who rebukes is also the Savior who stands at the door and knocks.
