Before Israel crossed the Jordan, the people again complained in the wilderness. The Lord sent fiery serpents, and many died. Yet mercy followed judgment: Moses lifted a brazen serpent on a pole, and whoever looked upon it lived.Jesus would later say, “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” — John 3 : 14-15
